    Forward-looking technology for roll manufacturing

Achieving a surface pattern free of grinding marks, machining marks and free of shading is what people are looking for in roll manufacturing. These requirements in combination with increasingly harder rolls (HRC > 62) and the demand for extremely high lifetimes requires a new roll grinding technology. This can only be achieved by using MACH CBN 2.0 grinding layers in combination with highly damping MACH WHEEL® bodies! Thanks to this forward-looking roll grinding technology, the HerkulesGroup with Herkules and WaldrichSiegen has been a shareholder and exclusive partner of MACH ROTEC® since 2013. The result is a unique market position for two technology pioneers. Your advantages for roll grinding by MACH ROTEC®:

    >> Access to the HERKULES Grinding Center with five large grinding machines
    >> Synergies of two technology leaders with exclusive partnership
    >> Regular customer presentations at the Grinding Center
    >> Worldwide distribution network in conjunction with HerkulesGroup
    >> Unique development potential

Roll grinding steel – hot strip

Rolls are exposed to enormous strain in hot strip rolling mills due to the heat of the rolled material. High-strength materials, which are very tough to process, are used in order to avoid extensive wear of the rolls in the assembly line.

GOAL: high volumes of metal removed by cutting // short grinding times / high grinding ratios

MACH WHEELS display their strengths in this very field due to their specifically aligned MACH CBN 2.0 grinding layers. Even rolls that are tough to process can be ground anew in the shortest of grinding times without any grinding marks. At the same time, MACH WHEEL products offer a long lifetime despite high strain.

Roll grinding steel – cold strip®

The use of MACH WHEELS facilitates efficient and cost-effective processing of increasingly harder roll materials (HSS, INVICTA, etc.) in cold strip rolling mills. The advantages of roll grinding, such as shorter grinding times with improved, grinding-mark-free surface, speak for themselves.

    Roll grinding aluminium & copper

Unchanging material thickness and a fully defect-free surface are the major requirements for roll grinding in aluminium & copper rolling mills. With rolling speeds of up to 2,500 m/min in the foil rolling mill, this is a big challenge for the grinding pattern of the roll and its geometric precision. MACH supplies customers from the copper & aluminium industry who appreciate the advantages of the damping MACH WHEELS.

    Roll grinding paper – composite

Paper mills have to deal with comparatively large widths requiring correspondingly wide rolls. The large grinding surface of up to 100 m² (DM up to 2,000 mm at a length of up to 19,000 mm) requires the highest quality/homogeneity of grinding tools.

Aligned MACH CBN 2.0 grinding layers allow different covers to be processed, such as composite and all other high-strength coatings.
